At the heart of what we do is helping our patients “Live Every Moment”, and recently, we got to do just that for Mynhardt, one of our patients who lives life in the fast lane—literally! An adrenaline junkie through and through, his bucket list had a few high-octane items, and we couldn’t wait to make them happen.

First up, we scored VIP tickets to the Suzuki International Motorbike Championships at Taupō Motorsport Park. Thanks to the awesome team at Cemetery Circuit, this was more than just a day at the races.  Mynhardt got to meet his hero, Peter Hickman, a motorbike racing legend! The two hit it off, sharing stories and laughs, and to top it all off, Peter signed Mynhardt’s personal motorbike helmet. International rider Davey Todd and a few of the others stopped by to say hi and catch up with him, making it a day full of excitement, inspiration, and some serious fanboy moments.

But why stop there? We wanted to take things to the next level—literally! With the help of Manny and the fantastic crew at Heliadventures, we arranged a helicopter ride over the stunning Lake Taupoō region. Imagine soaring through the sky, taking in the jaw-dropping views of the lake, maori rock carving, the might Waikato River and Huka Falls. Mynhardt’s smile said it all; this was pure magic

This wasn’t just about ticking boxes; it was about creating memories full of joy, excitement, and connection. Our vision has always been to bring the most unique care experience in the world to our community, and moments like this remind us why it matters so much.

A huge shoutout to Cemetery Circuit, Peter Hickman, Manny, and the Heliadventures team for helping us pull off such an epic adventure for Mynhardt. It’s teamwork like this that makes these incredible experiences possible.

To Mynhardt: you’re a legend. Your love of life and adventure inspires us all, and we’re so glad we got to share in your journey.

I was born in Canada, and grew up around Vancouver and the mountains of British Columbia. My love of pristine environments led me to New Zealand and eventually to the mountains, lakes and rivers of the central North Island which is home.
