Memorial Kōwhai Garden
This year for Hospice Awareness Week and as Lake Taupō Hospice marks 40 years of caring for our community, we are partnering with Greening Taupō and creating a special place for our community to remember loved ones and reflect for years to come.
Together, we are creating a Memorial Kōwhai Garden along the beautiful lakefront of Lake Taupō, with a goal of planting 500 kōwhai trees to commemorate this special milestone.
For a $15 donation, you can help plant a kōwhai and contribute towards the creation of a beautiful memorial plaque at the garden. We are also offering the opportunity to include a special message in memory of a loved one, which will be planted along with a kōwhai as a lasting tribute.
This garden will become a place of remembrance and connection for our community — a living legacy that honours loved ones, supports our environment, and can be enjoyed by generations to come.
Planting Day
Greening Taupō and Lake Taupō Hospice will be running a planting day on Sunday 17th of May at 10am - 2pm at the garden site - location TBC.
