Memorial Kōwhai Garden

Kowhai of Care

Celebrating 40 Years of Lake Taupō Hospice

To mark 40 years of caring for our community and celebrate Hospice Awareness Week, Lake Taupō Hospice is partnering with Greening Taupō to create a lasting place of remembrance along the Lake Taupō lakefront.

Together, we're planting 500 kōwhai trees, creating a living legacy where our community can remember loved ones, reflect, and connect for generations to come.

For a $15 donation, you can sponsor a kōwhai and help fund a memorial plaque for the garden. You can also include a personal message in memory of a loved one, which will be planted alongside a kōwhai as a lasting tribute.

Join Us on Planting Day

Come along on Saturday 17 May from 11am and help bring the Memorial Kōwhai Garden to life. Whether you're planting in memory of someone special or simply want to be part of this meaningful community project, we'd love to see you there.

A sausage sizzle and hot drinks will be provided, so bring the whānau and join us for a day of remembrance, connection, and community.
