About the Program

Fundamentals of Palliative Care is a series of learning packages designed for health care workers – registered and non-registered – who are caring for people with terminal illness.

The program is delivered through a blended model of learning, consisting of five online modules and three in-person workshops.

Watch an overview of the online program

Watch this short (2 min) introductory video to help set you up before you get started. It includes what is covered in the program, how to sign up, what you need to do to complete the program and where to go for support.

You can also download this information flyer about the online program.

Workshops

You need to complete each online learning module and in-person workshop to complete the full program.

For example, in order to complete “The Palliative Care Approach” workshop you must first complete “The Palliative Care Approach: Communication, ethics and spirituality” online module.  You are unable to book yourself into the workshop until you have completed the corresponding online module.

You are required to complete the “Essence” module before you can complete any of the other topics. You may complete these topics in any order, however, each workshop complements the completion of the corresponding online component.
